Robin N. McLaughlin-Kay, age 67, died January 3, 2021. Robin was born on June 12, 1953 in Berlin, Germany while her father was stationed there with the US Army. She is the daughter of G. Robert and Nina (Hsi) McLaughlin. As the daughter of a career army officer, Robin grew up in many locations across the country including Falls Church, Virginia, Fort Devens, Massachusetts, Highland Park, Illinois, Honolulu, Hawaii and others. She graduated from the University of Hawaii in 1974 with a BA in English. She met her future husband, Ed Kay, in May 1975 just prior to her twin sister’s wedding. Robin and Ed were married on December 13, 1975 in Norfolk, Virginia. Robin loved the Friday after work phone calls from Bob, the visits to see Tim in Nashville, spending time and shopping with her niece, Maeve, watching old movies, and just having an open ear for friends and family.
Robin is survived by Ed Kay, her husband of 45 years, her sons Timothy (Kerry) of Nashville, Tennessee and Robert of Atlanta; her niece, Maeve Sethi (Kunal) of Alpharetta; her brother, Robert (Theresa) of Cantonment, Florida and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her parents, her twin sister, Vivienne, and her brother, Ronald.
