

He is survived by his wife, Chris Zimmermann, brother, Glenn David Zimmermann (Julianne), Daughter, Lynn Fishback (Jeff), son, Eric Zimmermann (Loretta) and granddaughters, Whitney and Nikki Zimmermann.
Ron’s family moved to California when he was 16. He graduated from Whittier High School in 1953 and Whittier College in 1957. He met Chris when he was a junior in high school and they were married in 1957. Ron worked for Bethlehem Steel for 32 years, Trinity industries for 7 years and pursued entrepreneurial ventures thereafter. At Bethlehem Steel, he worked his way through sales, data processing, and ultimately ran its railroad car division, which is what he ultimately ran at Trinity as its President. Ron was an active member of First Baptist Church of Atlanta.
Ron was man of character, honesty, and hard work. He was a family man and a man of strong faith.
He loved to spend his time playing with his grandkids, on the golf course with friends, spending winters in Ocean Reef, enjoying his dog Dixie, singing in church choir, and volunteering at Saint Joseph’s Hospital.
A memorial service to honor the life of Ron Zimmermann will be held at two o’clock in the afternoon on Thursday, December 20, 2018 in the Chapel of Roswell Funeral Home with Mike Reinsel officiating. A reception with the family will follow the memorial service in the Reception Room of Roswell Funeral Home.
