Roy Bruce Lane, of Dunwoody, GA, passed away Monday, August 13, 2012 at the age of 81. He is predeceased by his parents, Roy and Edith Lane, brother, Daniel Lane and sister, Marion Lane. Bruce was born and raised in Decker, IN. He served in the Army from Oct 15, 1951 to Sep 24, 1953 and was honorably discharged, and later attended Valparaiso Technical School. Bruce married and started his family in Valparaiso, IN where daughter Danielle was born. Later the family moved to Kansas where, Kimberly, Clint & Vanessa were born. Bruce moved his family to Georgia in the summer of 1969 and settled into Dunwoody in 1970. Baseball, softball, basketball and football were all part of his kid lives and he loved to watch them play. Following his retirement, he did some travelling with his wife Helen who was the center of his universe. After the passing of his wife in 2002, Bruce spent his time spoiling his grandkids. A visitation will be held on Friday, August 17 from 4pm–7pm at Roswell Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Saturday, August 18 at 10:00am at the Dunwoody United Methodist Church followed by a military service at Green Lawn Cemetery.
