Sandra Lynn Shrader, lovingly known as "Sandy", passed away peacefully on June 1, 2025, at the age of 77. Born in Chicago, IL, on July 3, 1947, to Steven and Anne Anzak, Sandy brought joy, humor, and heart into every room she entered.
Known for her quick wit and warm spirit, Sandy had a deep love for traveling and discovering new places. Her adventurous nature and loving personality were matched by her unwavering dedication to education. Over the course of more than thirty years in the field, she inspired countless students and colleagues, leaving a lasting impact that will be felt for generations.
Though her passing brings great sorrow, her loved ones find comfort in having shared her final days at her side. She is dearly missed by all who knew her, especially her sons Jeff (Leah) and Brad (Allison), and her grandchildren Sydney, Riley, and Braden.
Per Sandy’s wishes, she was cremated, and a private family gathering will be held by the ocean. There will be no formal ceremony, but those who knew her are invited to honor her memory in their own meaningful ways—perhaps with a moment of quiet reflection or by sharing a story about how she touched their lives.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for a moment of prayer in Sandy’s memory. To share your condolences or favorite memories, we invite you to do so in the "Add a Memory" section below.
Sandy’s passing leaves a deep void, but her legacy of love, laughter, and learning will remain forever in the hearts of those she touched.
