

Stephen Enoch Olesnevich, 84, of Alpharetta, Georgia, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2025. Born on December 5, 1940, in Washington, D.C., Stephen was the son of the late Stephen Olesnevich and Dominica Minnie Schmirsky Olesnevich.
Stephen was a graduate of Pottstown High School, Pottstown, PA, Class of 1958. A proud graduate of Penn State University, Stephen earned his degree as Army Commissioned Officer, Class of 1962. He spent much of his early life helping his father run the family service station, a role that instilled in him a deep appreciation for hard work and dedication to service.
Stephen was an active and devoted member of many organizations, including the American Legion Post 201, the Yarrab Shrine, and Voiture 217 as well as the Roswell Adult Activity Center and the Roswell Ramblers. He found great fulfillment in supporting his community and honoring the sacrifices of veterans. He has shipped over13,000 care packages to troops all over the world. His service to these organizations was a reflection of his commitment to both his country and those around him.
An outdoors enthusiast, Stephen loved hiking and camping, finding peace and solace in nature. His adventures in the wilderness, whether on a mountain trail or under the stars, were some of his most cherished moments.
Stephen was also a faithful member of Roswell First Baptist Church, where he found strength and fellowship in his spiritual community. His kindness, humor, and warm heart left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
He is survived by Tammy Hubeny (Stepdaughter), Olivia Hubeny (Granddaughter), Timmy Thompson (Stepson), Antoinette Olesnevich Powell (Sister), Aimee Powell Tobin (Niece), Philip Powell (Nephew), David Powell (Nephew), Great-nieces Nikki Powell, Caitlin Tobin, Tara Powell, Great nephews David Powell, Jr, Jack Tobin.
He was preceded in death by Nanna Mae Thompson “His Itty Bitty”, Thomas Hubeny (Stepson) and Justin Philip Powell (Great-Nephew).
A funeral service will be held at American Legion Post 201, 201 Wills Road, Alpharetta, GA 30004, on January 25, 2025, receiving friends and family from 1:00 – 2:00, followed by a service at 2:00.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Legion Post 201, Soldier Boxes in Steve”O” name.
Stephen’s legacy of service, love for nature, devotion to his family, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
