

Born in Chamblee, Georgia, he was a graduate of University of Georgia Veterinary School. A well-loved veterinarian, he had practices in Chamblee and Sandy Springs. He will be long remembered by many for his quick wit, sense of humor and kindness to others.
Throughout his career he was active in the Georgia Veterinary Medical Association, serving in many capacities including president. He received many accolades for his work with the association on the local and national level and was named veterinarian of the year by the GVMA in 1985.
A World War II veteran, he commanded a tank in the 10th Armored Division, which saw action in Bastogne at the Battle of the Bulge.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Virginia, and three children: Kay Tritt (Bob), Charlotte Bankston (Mike) and Dr. Brad Greenway (JoEllen), six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
The family would like to thank the staff at St Ives Memory Care for their devotion and support during the past few years.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 11, 10 a.m., Roswell Funeral Home, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Internment following at Green Lawn Cemetery.
