

William J. Malay, Jr (Bill) 60, of Alpharetta, GA passed away May 19, 2015. Bill grew up in Nashua, NH and moved to Atlanta in 1972 to attend Southern Polytech. He met his wife, Nancy, at The Lakes apartment complex in 1980. They were married in 1982 and had 32 wonderful years together. Bill was a loving husband and a friend to all who knew him. He retired 10 years ago after a successful career as a project manager in commercial construction. He worked at P&L Construction Co then went on to become part owner of RW Smith Company. Bill had a giving spirit and gave us all courage and hope in the way he fought kidney cancer. He loved golf, traveling, and flying remote control airplanes at GMA in Ball Ground, GA. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, William and Ione Malay and survived by his wife Nancy, his sister Marie Dabney, and 12 nieces and nephews who all love him. Sincere gratitude to the staff and doctors at North Fulton Hospital who took care of Bill for the last 8 years (where he was known as "the muffin man") and to the staff and doctors at AMC and at Embracing Hospice for their loving care, kindness and support . In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to St Benedict Catholic Church, in Johns Creek, GA. Visitation will be at the Roswell Funeral Home May 28th from 5:00 to 7:30 with a rosary service from 7:30 to 8:00. The funeral mass will be held at St Benedict Catholic Church on May 29th at 10:30 a.m.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Duluth, GA.
