

After a long illness, He passed away peacefully at home. He was born in Los Angeles to Tomas and Ana Maria Serrato. He attended St. Catherine’s Military Academy and Loyola High School. He later graduated with a PhD from the school of hard knocks.
He started as a butcher in a family-owned company in East Los Angeles called Serrato Brothers. He then started his own meat company called Best Meats in Santa Fe Springs. Over the years he expanded the business and relocated to Highland, California. It is now called Far West Meats.
He enjoyed handball and racquetball. He was inducted into the “Southern California Handball Association’s Hall of Fame.” His passions were reading, horseracing, watching sports, eating at the Dal Rae, and being surrounded by family.
He is survived by his wife Ruth, 10 children, 24 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and crazy Yorkie Changuito.
