Born in Woodland, California, on September 3, 1923 and passed away July 30, 2014 in Sacramento. She is survived by her sister Patricia Riegel, son Ronald (Pamela) Eversden, daughter Susan (Robert) Hartin, all of Elk Grove, grandchildren Kathleen Eversden, of Elk Grove, Matthew Hartin, of Sacramento, Jason (Darlene) Hartin, of West Sacramento, and great-grandsons Colby and Aidan Flores-Hartin of Sacramento, 2 nieces, and 4 nephews. She joins Lon Eversden, her late husband of 64 exciting years, her parents William and Edna Armstrong, and brothers-in-law Mason Riegel and Richard Eversden. Audine graduated from McClatchy High School in Sacramento, and served as a very proud lady Marine in World War II. She was the attendance clerk at Sam Brannon Jr. High School when it opened. She loved life and enjoyed dancing, playing cards, traveling and being with her many friends. She would do anything to put a smile on your face. She was with us to celebrate her 90th birthday at the Carlton Plaza of Elk Grove, where she lived and was well cared for by staff and residents since its opening in 2012. She was a very loving mother who will be dearly missed. A private family ceremony will be held at her request. Donations may be made in her name to Shriners Hospital for Children, 2425 Stockton Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95817 or the charity of your choice. Her family would like to thank all the staff and residents at the Carlton Plaza of Sacramento, the Emeritus of Elk Grove, the Carlton Plaza of Elk Grove, the Windsor of Elk Grove, and her doctors and nurses at Kaiser South Sacramento for all the care, love, and support you gave Audine. As Audine would so often remark, “And that’s the way it is!”
Arrangements under the direction of Nicoletti, Culjis & Herberger Funeral Home, Sacramento, CA.
