

Born on October 5, 1922 in Philadelphia, PA and passed away peacefully on February 14, 2016 in Sacramento. Dan was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Peggy. Dan is survived by his children Jody (Dave) and Danny (Kim). He will be missed by many, including 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. During World War II, Dan served In the US Army. After the war, Dan went to and graduated from Oklahoma State in Stillwater, OK. In 1950, Dan married the love of his life, Peggy. Dan worked in the insurance industry for his entire career; living and working in Oklahoma, Texas and California. Dan and Peggy moved to Sacramento in 1983, two years before he retired. After retirement they loved traveling throughout the United States and Europe. At home neighbors saw him riding his bike on the American River bike trails 22 miles almost daily until he was 86 years old. Dan could also be seen at the baseball diamond or soccer field supporting his grandchildren. He volunteered at the food closet until last month. He leaves behind a legacy, life lessons and qualities we all admire and will strive to carry forward in our lives.
