

DoLores Evans lost her battle with Leukemia on June 5, 2014. She was born DoLores Martha Gray on June 20, 1936, to Vera and Orrie Gray in Rocksprings, WY. DoLores was preceded in death by Rick her beloved husband for 57 years, four of her children: Laura Martha, Robert Wayne, Vera Marie, and Michael Joseph; her parents; her brother Charlie Wayne and sisters Darleen and Marjorie.
DoLores was on the Drill Team first at Roseville High School and then at Sacramento High School where she graduated in 1954. She was employed by the State Employment Development Department from 1956 until she retired in 1986 as Supervisor Prog. Tech. II in order to babysit her grandson, Will, full time.
In retirement she volunteered at St. Mary’s school working with the CCD department and was a long standing member of the Parish Social Club. She volunteered with many pet rescue groups and fostered dogs for the SPCA and Happy Tails Pet Rescue. DoLores enjoyed knitting, crocheting, making rosaries, and reading her favorite author, James Patterson.
DoLores is survived by her daughter DiAnne Armstrong; grandson Will (Zarah) Armstrong and great grandson Richie Armstrong; her sisters Laura (Leonard) Wait and Ruth Truit; and her many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Happy Tails Pet Sanctuary, Sacramento, or to your favorite charitable organizations.
