

Donald J. Cecchettini born October 17, 1935 in Sacramento, California passed away March 27, 2023 in Sacramento California. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Karen Lee Cecchettini (Johansen). He is survived by his son, Paul Cecchettini and wife Susan Cecchettini of Folsom, and daughter Gail Cecchettini Whaley of Elk Grove, California. He will be forever remembered and cherished by his grandchildren Kristen, Madison, Kendall, Jack and Veronica. Also survived by his brother Richard Cecchettini (and wife Nan), sister in-law Susan Raduechel (and husband Robert), as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family. Don, a graduate of Sacramento State University, had a successful career in construction finance, working for many years at A. Teichert & Sons., Inc. and rising to the level of Secretary/Treasurer of one of the largest bridge builders in the United States, MCM Construction. Don also served in the U.S. Army where he attended the Army Language School and graduated a Russian Linguist. Things he was proud of in life included raising two successful children with his wife Karen and being with his loving grandchildren. He was also proud of his Italian Heritage and involved in Italian cultural clubs. He was an avid sports fan with a life-long love for the Dodgers and the 49rs, as well as coaching Little League for many years. He loved to golf and was thrilled to once achieve a hole-in-one. Don had a keen sense of humor, treasured his many pets over the years, loved to read and enjoyed spending time with people, playing cards or just talking. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
