Eugene (Gene) Manuel Santiago was born on June 13th, 1939, he passed away on December 23rd, 2014 of a sudden illness. Gene was preceded in death by two sons, Manuel Anthony and James Eugene. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Louise (Lucy) and his children: Valerie (and Andy) Csonka, Anita (and Danny) Rocha, Lori (and John) Brokenshire, Danny (and Michelle) Santiago and Paul (and Melody) Santiago. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Gene served in the U.S. Navy in his younger years. He loved all sports and was an avid fan of both the San Francisco 49ers and the San Francisco Giants. He loved to hunt and to fish, activities he passed on to members of his family. He enjoyed going to flea markets and visiting the casino with his wife.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, January 2nd, 2015, from 4:30 pm - 7:00 pm. Rosary is at 7:00 pm at Nicoletti, Culjis & Herberger Funeral Home, 5401 Folsom Blvd in Sacramento, with a funeral mass, to follow on Saturday, January 3rd, 2015, at 10:00 am at St John Vianney Parish, 10497 Coloma Rd in Rancho Cordova.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Veterans Administration or the American Cancer Society in the name of Eugene Santiago.
