Freeda "Beckie" Lapos

Beckie was born Freeda Joan Beckwith on June 10, 1932 in West Stockbridge, MA.

She joined the Air Force and was stationed at Mather AFB in Sacramento, CA as a radio/communications tech. It was at Mather where she met the love of her life. Both of them stated it was "love at first sight". They traveled the world together and chose to retire back in Sacramento where it all began.

Along the way they raised six children: Freeda (Doug) Babson, Thomas, Terrie (Frank) Putz, Mary, Bernard (Sherri) and Rose (Ed) Lewis. Her youngest, Andrew, pre-deceased her. She is also survived by grand children Liz (Brian) Harris, Christina, Jennifer (Charlie) Phillips and Megan. Grand-children Alisa Massey, Shawn and Ryan Lapos pre-deceased her. Additionally, she had six great grandchildren Jamey (Audrey) Putz, Evan and Avery Massey and Lily, Liam and Heidi Phillips.

Beckie was a devout Catholic whose passions included gardening, painting, reading, and family get togethers.

Mom, we love you dearly and miss you terribly. We know that we will see you and dad again when we all meet up in Heaven.

Nicoletti, Culjis & Herberger Funeral Home is handling the local arrangements. Interment will be in Pennsylvania.
