While I watched Jack and Rosebud for a few years every morning as I drove to work, it wasn't until this past year that I finally got my chance to meet them. After parking, I excitedly and quickly exited so I could catch the two of them as they passed. We talked about bulldogs while treats and pats on the head were given to Rosie. I'm glad I got that chance to meet them because my day was even brighter when I got a chance to see them and wave at the start of my day. Please give Rosie a hug for me. I will miss them both.

I met Jack when Corrections was at 7th & K. He had a "quiet" voice. Always had a  great smile and was quick to say hi when I'd see him on the streets after he retired. Rest in peace, Jack.

Jack was my Administrative Manager at CDCR for many years-he was why I stayed after helping me with a promotion. He was a smart, funny, creative person, who loved cows-at least drawing them. Over a period of time he compiled several hundred 'drawings' from his computer and he got better and better at it.  I saved every single one of them and for his birthday (68th I think), I gave them to him in a binder.  He was so shocked, and I think-happy that someone thought about it.  Some of us would get together periodically for lunch; he never missed one.  I will miss him, his conversations about his loved Rosebud (how could anyone who knew Jack, not know about that wonderful dog?!), his love of Mustangs, his 'private-ness', his being a quiet friend and his willingness to help if he could.  Rest in peace Jack.

Our morning runs around William Land Park will never be the same, and my husband and I will never forget Jack and Rosebud. I wish we had stopped more frequently to chat and share a biscuit with Rosebud. They leave a huge hole in the Land Park community.

We are also park walkers and  enjoyed our visits with Jack and Rosebud.  So sorry for your loss...

My deepest condolences to family and friends. Though we didn't know Jack personally, we were some of the many people who exchanged pleasantries around the SLP neighborhood with this dynamic duo.  We also have a bulldog the same age and Rosebud. Such a kind man. This duo touched many! I hope Rosebud adjusts well to Kansas.

I remember the Peyton family  from when I was child. We were neighbors. My family had corner grocery store and we would play together. Janet was closer to my age. I am very sorry for The loss of Jack. I have only wonderful memories of the Peyton family and the "J"
