John A. Carbone

Born on 11/16/46 in Sacto., John passed away peacefully on 3/19/15 at home surrounded by

his loving family.

Preceded in death by his parents, John and Lena Carbone, he is survived by his loving wife of

31 yrs, Patti, his daughter Lisa (Sean) Grady and sons, John Carbone Jr., Tracy (Billie) Wilson,

Keith (Shawn Lundberg) Wilson, brothers Sam (Flavia) Carbone and Bob (Mary Ann) Carbone;

grandchildren Jacyn and Gavin Grady and Dylan Lundberg-Wilson. He is also survived by his

many nephews, nieces, cousins and extended family members

A Sacramento native, John attended Sierra Elementary and Cal Middle Schools, He graduated

from C.K. McClatchy High School in 1964 and recently attended his 50th Class Reunion. He

received his degree in criminal justice from Sacramento City College. He began his law

enforcement career in 1970 with the California State Police where he was assigned to then

Governor Ronald Reagan’s Protective Detail. in 1976, he joined the Department of Justice as

a Criminal Intelligence Specialist. In 1982, John became a Special Agent and spent the

remainder of his career with the Bureau of Medi-Cal Fraud and Elder Abuse, retiring in 2003.

John’s favorite pastime was playing golf. He enjoyed many annual golf/fishing trips with coworkers

who became life long friends. He was also a member of the SIR Branch 69 and their

golfing group. He and his wife enjoyed cruising and traveling in their RV, spending time with

friends and enjoying special times with his family.

John was a friend to everyone he met and will be greatly missed by his family and all who

knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at 11 a.m., at the Arden Hills

Resort, 1220 Arden Hills Lane (Cross-street Fair Oaks Blvd), Sacramento, CA., (916) 292-5781.

Kidney Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
