

Born in Elizabeth-Industry, PA on Dec. 29, 1939, John passed away peacefully on Aug. 5, 2013 at the age of 73. John had a zest for life and helping others, especially his family, and was a man of dignity, honor and respect. A man firm in his convictions, he was also fair and trusted that people would do the right thing and he took his own responsibilities to heart. John earned trust in the community by the level of service he provided as a manager at Lucky’s Market for 28 years. He enjoyed working in his garden, BBQ’ing and was skilled in furniture refinishing, including revamping school desks for the schoolhouse in Old Sacramento. He also had an affection for classic cars and knew his way around a combustion engine. John especially loved his children and grandchildren and being there for them during special events and milestones in their lives.
John is preceded in death by his parents Guifrida “Freda” and Camillo Dugoni and brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Dolores Dugoni. John is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Darlene Campbell Dugoni, his adored children Angelina (John) Azevedo, Lisa (Bryan) Gardner; his cherished step-children Brian Miller, Christopher (Lorrie) Miller, Julia (Bill) Miller and grandchildren Aidan, Andrya, Cameron, Elizabeth, Garrett, Giovanni, Ian, Jeremy, Jordan and Philip.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, Aug. 9 from 4-7pm and a Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 10 at 11:00 a.m. Both services will be held at Nicoletti, Culjis & Herberger Funeral Home 5401 Folsom Blvd. (916) 451-7284. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital of Sacramento.
