Luella is survived by her children Julie and husband Rich deBorba, Chris and wife Colleen Davis, Mike and wife Carol Davis, Tina Conklin, Cindy and husband Tim Rodier, her grandchildren, Scott and wife Adrianna deBorba, Erin and husband Jeff McKay, Ian and wife Lindsay deBorba, Brian and Nathan Davis, Evan and Jenna Davis, Justin and Cody Conklin, and Noelle and Lily Rodier, and great-grandchildren Ryan McKay. and Emma deBorba. She is also survived by her siblings: Agnes O’Neil, John Sigl, Jim Sigl, and Pat Sigl
Luella was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles “Chuck” Davis and her dear sister, Cecilia Chambers.
Luella was born on April 20, 1934 in Gladstone ND. She grew up in Lefor ND until moving to Sacramento with her family. She was a graduate of Sacramento High School. Upon graduation, she worked for the State of California, until marrying her sweetheart, Chuck in 1959. She cared for their five children at home, until returning to the workforce; this time, in the Catholic School system. She worked in the office part time, at St. Patrick School, until becoming a full time secretary, at Immaculate Conception School. In addition to all of her office responsibilities, Luella shared her love of music and singing by teaching music classes for the students of I.C. She retired from her position at the school in 1990.
Luella served many years as the choir director at Immaculate Conception Church. She was an active member of the Altar Society, and she served many years as president of the I.C. Senior Citizens Group, organizing bus trips to area casinos. She always looked forward to those trips, which she enjoyed immensely.
A viewing will be held 3:00 - 7:00 pm, 7/25/22 at Nicoletti, Culjis & Herberger Funeral Home. The funeral mass is scheduled for 10:30 am, 7/26/22 at Immaculate Conception Church. The burial will be at 12:00 noon, at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Following the burial ceremony, a reception will be held at the Dante Club, starting at 1:00 pm. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Luella’s life.
