Gosh--a year has passed already?   It hardly seems possible.   Ask God to protect all of us down here on earth--we need it badly.

Michael, You were a rare man with great love in your words and heart! I am so sad we didn't get together the week before your surgery, I will keep you notes to me forever! I miss you soo much, so true in your case that only the good die young! Mary Jane

I miss you this time of year--missing all the beautiful fall and winter pictures you always posted for all of us to enjoy.  I was going to take lessons from you on doing my pictures but I waited to long again--story of my life.

We got to see Bret @ Anita's not to long ago.   What a handsome, intelligent, bright son you and Molly raised.   It looks like Natalie is moving along in her career--she's such a delight.   We wish we'd been around your kids more when they were younger.

Dear Michael, I will truly miss going with you to Christmas Mass you are in my heart forever and ever.

This is my second entry. I just MUST send this to the family. Michael has been on my mind so much. I think of him when I see the sun rise or set on the Delta; even just to stare at the water.....he's there. Everybody that had the pleasure to know him understands exactly what I'm saying.

You, his family, will be in my thoughts and prayers for the rest of my life.

I am greatly saddened to hear about Michael's passing, although I know he is in heaven and helping the Lord paint beautiful sunsets on the Delta. I had the pleasure of knowing Mike and his wife before she passed on and working with Mike on several photo projects for his clients. What a joy he was, not only to work with, but to talk shop with about photography. You will be sorely missed my friend. Our prayers are with the family of this marvelous and wonderful man. I had the pleasure of knowing Mike for 45 years. I was introduced to Mike by his sister Vickie while attending Courtland High School. Since that time our lives intersected in many instances over the years. The last time we spoke was a week before his surgery. We had been discussing which of his photos would go in my dinning room. My wife, Norma, met Mike for the first time at the Pear Fair last year. Like everyone else, she loved him from the start. Mike and I enjoyed singing as well. We sang Italian folk songs and a few arias together. Michael, you were a great friend to me. You will be missed.

Know how much you're going to miss your dad this Easter Day coming up.   I cannot even imagine the struggles you might be going through--just wondering why this happened.  I lost my dad when I was 19, but my mom lived a long life and I got to enjoy her immensely right up until her end at almost 96.

Know that we love you both and are always here for you.

I have always felt proud to have called Mike my friend. He said he was happy again with a lady in Brazil. I never EVER thought we would lose him. I would like his daughter and his family to know I am sorry for your loss. I will pray for all of you.

I called him Guido, he called me Oscar. (Our fathers names who also knew each other before Mile and I met as 
roomates, before SAE.)  When Mike was asked to pledge SAE,
he encouraged me and SAE as well to let me pledge. I will deeply miss my roomate, my pledge brother, fraternity brother, big brother and friend. My heartfelt regards go out to his family.

As one of Mike's SAE fraternity brothers, I have the highest regard for his gentle, sincere soul.  After many years of being out of touch, when we spoke by phone a few years ago, I was reminded of Mike's love of God, his fellow man and nature.  Those of us who knew Mike are blessed.

We will all miss Mike, he was a fine and kind Brother.  May God bless the family in this time of hardship.

So sorry to hear of the passing of this talented and gentle soul.  One of his photographs -- "Follow the Call" I believe he called it -- sits above our living room fireplace.  We will not forget Michael, his work, or his enthusiasm for the Delta.  Our condolences to his family.

I also worked with Michael at HomEq.  Michael was such a positive force among our co-workers.  He seemed to always be able to find the good in everyone and help others to see the good in themselves.  Michael, your absence will surely be felt here on Earth.  Rest with the angels and in the arms of your loved ones who greeted you there.

I worked with Michael at HomEq and enjoyed the wonderful sense of humour he had as well as his great insight of his purpose in life.  He was truly a wonderful person with a great heart.  My condolences go out to all of the family.

To those of us fortunate to have known him at Davis we grieve with heavy hearts at the loss of our dear Brother in SAE.  I feel so saddened he is no longer with us.  He always, always had wonderful things to say about his most treasured memories at UC Davis.  I often encouraged him and shared my own personal story of life's trials and hardships as a way of lifting him up and giving him hope.  He was a man of great heart, feelings and love for the world around him.  I know he experienced difficult times.  I had nothing but respect and appreciation for him..  We'll miss you Michael. Mike was one of my roommates during my freshman year at Davis and subsequently my fraternity brother. Mike was the embodiment of the True Gentlemen and I am blessed to have known him.

So sad to hear that Michael has passed. What a loss for all of us as he was the sweetest man, a great father and friend. Michael and I had reconnected and realized that by applying our mutual talents and passions, we could combine making a good income while making a significant difference melding art with issues of ageing-in-place, care-giving and more. We were just beginning to brainstorm ideas we had been working on for some time. Seeing him and his mom just before she passed pushed us to work faster...
