

Richard is survived by his ex-wife Vivian, his children Tammara Kropp (Mark) of West Sacramento, Charlene Goering (Rod) of Vacaville, and Richard Holland Jr, (Tess) also of West Sacramento. His siblings Thomas Holland (Jean) of Calpine, Ca and Kathleen Lauten (Gerald) of Sacramento. Grandchildren: Kimberly Doughty (Brandon), Mitchell Hawkins (Niki), Kristyn Santos (Alina), Brittany Hawkins (BJ), Joshua Holland and Samuel Kropp. Great-grandchildren: Harper, Gage, Malia, and Hunter. He is preceded in death by his parents Richard and Carmel Holland of West Sacramento.
Richard was born on July 26, 1942, in Sacramento, CA to Richard and Carmel Holland. He graduated from Clarksburg High School in 1960 and joined the U.S. Army a year later, serving one tour in Vietnam. He married Vivian Morgan in 1965. After moving to Rio Vista, Richard began working for Blackwelder as a welder and painter. Over the next six years, the couple welcomed 3 children into their home. His children remember him as a hardworking and driven father who raised them to never say “Can’t”.
Richard was a small business owner in West Sacramento opening Kay’s Body Shop in 1976 and R&K Septic and Tractor service in 2003, who just recently retired at the age of 82 only when he became physically unable to continue working. He was dedicated to his family and friends and was always there to lend a helping hand. He was an active and dedicated member of the Thunderbolts and the Capitol Auto Club.
A Celebration of Life will be held on November 14, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm at Nicoletti, Culjis & Herberger Funeral Home, located at 5401 Folsom Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95819 with a reception to follow at West Sacramento Moose Lodge. 3240 Jefferson Blvd, West Sacramento, CA
