

Ronald “Ron” Lee Jackson was born in Berkely, California on July 12, 1956, and transitioned on December 17th, 2023. He was born to Lanceola Jackson and Aletha Jackson (Johnson) of Richmond, California. Ron was the sixth of their eight children. His family instilled the value of family unity and hard work for their children.
Ron attended school in Richmond and graduated from El Cerrito High School in Richmond, California in 1974. Ron knew he wanted to excel as he pursued his career goals. In 1976 Ron moved to Sunnyvale, California and later attended Butchers Skills Center in San Jose, California. Ron successfully completed his skills course and after graduation he began working for Alpha Beta Super Market as an apprentice meat cutter. In 1980 Ron moved to Sacramento, California and continued his career as a journeyman meat cutter for Safeway Super Market for an additional 8 years.
In the fall of 1981, Ron met Marie Evetta Nash. Ron and Marie dated for three years. During this time, Ron introduced Marie to his family members. Eventually, she met the entire family including all the siblings, uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Ron and Marie were inseparable. Ron exposed Marie to his world of music; particularly jazz and R&B. They both enjoyed traveling to concerts all over California. Ron, known by so many, was a true Oakland Raider fan. He was a season ticket holder, attended the games, and loved the tailgating parties with friends in the parking lot of the Oakland Coliseum.
On December 2, 1984, Ron and Marie were married. From this union, Ron and Marie had three beautiful children: Ronald Lee, Angelique Nicole, and Justin Kyle. In 1985, they moved their family to Grass Valley, California and lived there until they bought their first home in Antelope, California. The same year, Ron started working for Bel Air Markets where he would work for 26 years. Ron retired from BelAir in January 2010. Ron's total career as a butcher totaled more than 40 years. He thoroughly enjoyed his career as a butcher and enjoyed his fellow colleagues.
Ron's activities also included traveling with Marie and enjoyed family vacations, attending church, working on projects for the home and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Ron was a great cook and was no stranger to the grill and was famous for his ribs and tri-tip. Ron loved his in-laws and served as a caregiver to them, particularly his mother-in-law in her later years.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; Aletha and Lanceola Jackson; Brothers: James, Darryll, and Brady Jackson; Sisters: Lucresia Jackson; Osceola Fisher and Thelma Bradford.
Ron is survived by his loving wife Marie Nash-Jackson; Daughter Angelique Jackson of Sacramento, California; Sons Ronald Jackson II, (Elizabeth) of Sacramento, California; Justin Jackson, (Emma) of Seattle, Washington; Sister Alicia “Bonnie”Jackson of Richmond, California; Sister- in-laws Fleda Nash-Gresham (Steven) of Sacramento, California; Veronica Nash of Reno, Nevada; Brother in laws; William Nash Sr., Mark Nash Sr., of Sacramento, California; Timothy Nash Sr., of the Philippines; Stephen Nash Sr., of Martinez, California; Grandchildren; Alicia Angelique, Rainah Marie, Sophia Roni Faith, Carlos DeAnthony Johnson, Olivia Justine, Nash Robert, Quincy James, Oskar Olson and Sydney Alexes Pecot and God-daughter Brittney Nash of Vacaville, California; and God-son Kai Ambrose of San Bernadino, California.
Ron's memories will be cherished by his children, grandchildren and family members, a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, friends, and former colleagues.
