

Scott was born prematurely on October 27, 1974. From the very beginning, he demonstrated determination and strength-qualities that would define his life. He was the beloved son of Dr. Robert G.Mogull (1939-2015) and Susan L. Mogull (1940-2013), both of whom preceded him in death.
A serious and dedicated student, Scott achieved academic honors throughout his life and earned multiple advanced degrees, including a PhD. He devoted his career to education as a Professor of Technical and Scientific Writing, where he was deeply respected for his intellect, rigor, and commitment to clarity and excellence in communication. He was also the author of the book, Scientific and Medical Communication: A Guide for Effective Practice, a reflection of his passion for helping others communicate complex ideas effectively and responsibly.
Beyond academia, Scott lived with ambition and energy. He was athletic and disciplined, rowing crew in college and later running multiple half-marathons. He was a world traveler, fiercely independent, hardworking, and driven, yet known equally for his sharp humor and wit. He brought intensity to his pursuits and laughter to those around him. He also deeply loved his cat, Eek, who was a constant companion.
Scott is survived by his sister Robin, her husband Jason Levingston, and their daughters Alisa and Ashley; his brother Michael, his son Ari, his wife Sam, and their children Yael and Miriam. He was a devoted brother and uncle, and his presence will be profoundly missed by his family.
Dr. Scott Alexander Mogull will be remembered for his intellect, perseverance, curiosity, and humor. His legacy lives on through his scholarship, his students, his writing, and the many lives he touched.
