It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sibyl Sue Clark, who left us on 4/23/2026, in the comfort of her home in Sacramento, CA. She was born on 11/20/1950 in Sacramento, CA, to Joseph Mack Poareo and Shirley Virginia Poareo.
Sibyl graduated from Sacramento High School in 1968. She went on to pursue higher education at California State University. Afterward, she worked for Pacific Bell as a Graphic Artist for over thirty years. Later on, she worked as a baker for Whole Foods in Sacramento, CA.
Sibyl had lots of hobbies and interests. Sibyl loved to draw and was very skillful in embroidery. She also always found time to bake, especially her sugar cookies, which she would do every Christmas for everyone to enjoy. She also found time to garden and cultivate tomatoes. You would always find her nose in a book, and she was a long-time dedicated Star Trek fan and/or Trekkie.
Sibyl was known for her fun and colorful personality. She was known for having a great sense of humor and for being very loving and empathetic toward others.
Sibyl is survived by her husband Gerald Lynn Clark, her son Spencer John Clark, and her sister Penny Kessler. She was preceded in death by her youngest sister Veneita Owens, her father, Joseph Mack Poareo, and her mother, Shirley Virginia Poareo.
A memorial service will be held for Sibyl at 11:00 a.m. on May 14, 2026 at Nicoletti, Culjis & Herberger Funeral Home: 5401 Folsom Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95819.
