What an outstanding man, great friend and my mentor.  Taught with him at Winston Churchill Intermediate School for 4 years at the beginning of my career.  We had some great beer drinking Friday nights.  I followed him to Mira Loma High for one year.  He gave me the outline for American Government, which I used for many years at Elk Grove High School.
Without a doubt he was one of the greatest teachers I encountered in my 39 years in education.

As the kids were growing up we had a standing lunch appointment and often lunch at McDonald’s would be followed up by a trip to one of Grandma’s  favorite antique or thrift stores where  “Father” as she called him would always drive, often carry her purse, open doors and show the world what a true gentleman he  was until the end. . I’m so grateful for all those Wednesdays spent together.

Remembering Tim Sheehan .  His wonderful family as family friends and neighbors in my childhood on Jackson Street.   Then lucky and honored to have had him as teacher and friend at Mira Loma.  I remember a ready smile and cheerful greeting.  He was truly a gentleman and a scholar.


Too many memories to share. I joined the Kings stat crew in 1986 and worked closely with Tim at every game until he retired in 2011. Tim had his moments on the scoreboard but there was one thing he never failed in doing. Showing up. I believe he only missed one game in his 27 seasons. And that was only because he had a 5-way bypass! He also cherished working the CIF high school tournaments with his Mira Loma cronies at Arco every year.  And I am happy he was able to experience the Kings in their glory years, as well as watch the Monarchs win a championship. I wish there was a way to bury the old scoreboard console with him. He owned it! ;-)  And lastly, from a personal point of view, I so much admired him, and Dodie, for getting up and living their life every day after what life through at them.  Tim, you were one of the good ones! From one Irish lad to another, Sláinte!

I had him at Mira Loma HS for his class break one hour a week independent study on Tuesdays my senior year to complete a history credit to graduate and also so I could take fire science ROP and that is how I was able to have my 35 year Fire career. He went beyond extra time to help me.  l loved going to class with him he save my graduation and my future job. Thank you.

I know you are resting in peace. You are now with your beautiful daughters. You will be missed, you touched so many in your life. You changed lives of your students and brought live to your family. Proudly, I was part of both. I think I will miss your laughter most of all.

For years your wife and son sat behind us at Sacramento Kings games.  We enjoyed them so much and enjoyed you as well when you came up before you went to your job on the clock during the games.  You did a great job.  Rest in peace.  You will be missed.

Grandpa Sheehan loved having lunch with his grandkids as much as he hated cheese on his burgers. He was always ready to play and laugh with them. He was a true gentleman and a wonderful example of lighthearted good times for his grandkids. Maybe we spent so much time at McDonald’s with him so they would think of him as often as we see one. That will keep us smiling and in awe and wonder at how he lived such a long and active life despite the amount of salt packets he added to his burger.  He will be greatly missed. 

Mr. Sheehan was my history teacher. I really enjoyed the class because he made it fun. I remember the phrase he used when he wanted us to do something. He always said, “Do it to it.” History ended up being one of my best subjects. I also enjoyed seeing him at the scoring table at the Kings game. He was certainly loved by all.

Mr. Sheehan was the best! I had pneumonia my senior year, last semester, and he was so patient and kind with me regarding my makeup work.  May he rest in peace.

I knew you before high school because you lived next door to my best friend in elementary school, and then got to see you many years later at the scoring table at the Sacramento Kings games. Mr. Sheehan was at Winston Churchill when I was and my teacher at Mira Loma.  I will always remember his bright smile, how fast he walked and of course, that twinkle he always had in his eyes.  He was a true example that  “Teaching is the greatest act of optimism. “

Had Mr. Sheehan as a teacher at both Whitney Ave School, and later at Mira Loma High School. Absolutely one of my favorites. Was lucky after school to periodically run into him at Kings games and when he brought his classes down to the Capitol. Just a kind and wonderful man. The world lost a good one!

Mr Sheehan first instructed me in summer school when I was 7. I had him for Civics in high school at Mira Loma HS in 1970  as well. He was always friendly, and personable, but most important he wanted you to think about what he lectured. He desired for us to be better citizens. Better people. Finally, his daughter Stephanie and I became good friends at Mira Loma . I pray for  and share condolences  to the family at this time . Thank you Mr Sheehan 

Condolences to Mr. Sheehan’s family on his passing.   I enjoyed him as my high school history teacher AND the fact that we all got the day off on St Patrick’s Day.  He was a positive influence on his students and his profession.  God speed my friend!

What a great life he had. Was truly a blessed man. Wonderful teacher. Even was involved with the Sacramento Kings.

Mr. Sheehan, you were a special teacher that inspired many of us to be the best students we could be. I think it was in 1964 we first met at Whitney Ave School, then you went over to Winston Churchill Junior High and then of course followed us over to Mira Loma High School. The class of 1969 had had the privilege of your devotion, attention, kindness and strength through those years. Your sense of humor was legendary. I had Mr. Sheehan senior year 1986, although I had a difficult time in his class, if he wouldn't have pushed me, I probably wouldn't have graduated.  I appreciate him for that, he will be missed. My deepest condolences
