Tommie Lee Cardin was born on October 23, 1923 in Decatur, Alabama to parents, Lennard and Beatrice Cardin. She had one sister, Orlene, and three brothers, Ed, Sammie and Lennard, and a half-sister, Carolyn. Shortly after Tommie's birth, the Cardins moved to Florence, Alabama, where they lived for many years.

In 1946, Tommie married Victor Arthur Haring in Montgomery County, Alabama. Tommie and Victor later moved to Sacramento, California, where Tommie gave birth to two sons, Robert Eugene Haring and Raymond Victor Haring.

Tommie is survived by her sons, Robert Eugene Haring of Corona, CA, and Raymond Victor Haring, Ph.D., and his wife, Gay Lynne Carroll Haring, Esq., of Sacramento, CA. Tommie is also survived by her brother, Sammie Cardin and his wife, Nellie Cardin, of Florence, AL; her sister Orlene Cardin's son, David E. Cardin, D.V.M., of Richmond, VA, and David's children, William Summerhill Cardin, of Nashville, TN, and Rebecca Shannon Cardin, of Tuscaloosa, AL. Tommie has four grandchildren by Robert Eugene Haring and his wife Kathy F. Haring (deceased in 2007): Christina Ann Haring, James Robert Haring, Michelle Lynn Haring, and Matthew David Haring. All of Tommie's grandchildren reside in Southern California. Tommie has one great-grandchild, Ethan Dillan Haring. Tommie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Victor Arthur Haring, who passed away at the age of 47 in 1971, and is interred at East Lawn Memorial Park, Sacramento, CA.

Services in Tommie Lee Haring's honor will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at 11:00am, in Sacramento, CA and there will be a public visitation on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm, both at Nicoletti, Culjis and Herberger Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow her funeral service at East Lawn Memorial Park in Sacramento, CA.
