She grew up in Miami, Florida where she attended The Everglade School for Girls (now Ransom Everglades School) and Florida Bible College.
Coming to St. Louis in 1970, she led the music ministry of the youth ministry Kibbutz as well as of the church founded and pastored by her husband, Clayton Community Church, where she served in many other capacities including discipling many future church leaders. She worked with children in north St. Louis through the Kibbutz ministry for 24 years.
She had a particular heart for missionary work which included organizing support for missionaries and going on short-term mission trips to Brazil, Cuba and Kazakhstan. She also trained leaders in Sicily. She worked as an office manager for Flo Products in Creve Coeur for many years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Berrene Spencer and her husband Rev. Eugene Wayne Carson.
Carolyn is survived by her children, Stephen (Heather) Carson, Jonathan Carson, and Rachel (Michael) Ferguson; her grandchildren, Laurellyn, Madeleine, Spencer, Ransom, Judah, Caleb, Miriam and Lucy Carson, and Asher and Solomon Douchant. Also Isabela, Natalie, Daria, Margot Carson and their mother Jennifer Carson.
A visitation for Carolyn will be held Saturday, October 16, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Alexander - White - Mullen Funeral Home, 11101 Saint Charles Rock Road, Saint. Ann, Missouri 63074. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 1:00 PM at Mount Lebanon Cemetery, 11101 St Charles Rock Rd, Saint Ann, Missouri 63074.
