Howard Leroy “Lee” Rowe, 87, of St. Louis, MO passed away on Friday, February 1, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Dora A. (nee Cauley) Rowe; his wife, Florence (nee Stueve) Rowe; and daughter-in-law, Rosemary P. Rowe. Lee was a proud veteran of the US Army and worked hard to support his family. He was a member of the Cement Masons Local 527 for over 60 years. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed fishing and hunting and spending time with his family. Lee was a man of many talents and had knew how to do just about anything—he could even cook and sew! His holiday dinners were epic and he was the family specialist in assuring the meals were properly prepared. Lee enjoyed sitting outside having a cold beer with his friends. However, his real enjoyment was donuts! He was a wise cracker and always kept the nurses in stitches during any hospital stays. As his wife suffered through a long illness, Lee cared for her better than any medical professional could have. His sense of humor and kind heart will be missed by everyone who knew him.
Friends may visit on Monday, February 4, 2019 from 4-8 p.m. at Alexander White Mullen Funeral Home in St. Ann. Funeral service is at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home and he will be laid to rest beside his wife at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery with full military honors. Memorials are appreciated to the Alzheimer’s Association. Expressions of condolence may be offered at www.alexanderstlouis.com.
