

Kenneth L. Porter “Ken”, 92, of Overland, MO passed away peacefully on Monday, March 13, 2017. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary (nee Beck) Porter; his beloved wife, Ernestine Paulette “Polly” (nee DeVane) Porter married on April 14, 1945; a son, Kenneth L Porter Jr (Larry) sister, Jean Schisler; and brothers, Harold and Bob Porter. Ken is survived by his sons, Gary (Lori) Porter and Michael (Cindy) Porter; grandchildren, Karen Harper, _Eric Porter, Michael Porter, Douglas Porter, Timothy Porter, Michael Porter, Jr; and Matthew Porter; great grandchildren, Reagan Porter, Crystal Clark and Jordon Porter; and great great grandchildren, Bentley Porter and Chance Kitchell.
Ken was a proud veteran of the US Navy serving in both World War II and the Korean Conflict. He served a pipe fitter’s apprenticeship at Seaboard Coastline and later worked for the Missouri Pacific Railroad and the Union Pacific Railroad where he retired after 43 years of dedicated service. Ken was a bright man with a great sense of humor. He was dedicated to his family and worked hard to support them. In his free time, he loved to fish and collect sports memorabilia and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. Friends may visit on Friday, March 17, 2017 from 10 a.m. until the time of service at noon. He will be laid to rest with his wife and son at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery with full military honors. Expressions of condolence may be offered at www.alexanderstlouis.com.
