Dawn Denise Sedlitz, 55 died on Feb. 22, 2025, surrounded by her loving family after a lengthy illness. Born in California, Dawn spent most of her childhood in Lake Charles, LA until the family moved to Panama City Beach, FL. It was there that she graduated from Bay High School.
Professionally, Dawn worked with American General Insurance, until 2015 when she and her husband, Jeff opened their own firm, Family Tree Financial Group. Most people remember Dawn for her beautiful voice and captivating smile. She was a “can do” person always looking for ways to help her family, friends and any animal she could. Family was most important to her, Dawn had many hobbies, she loved to sing and perform with her husband, Jeff, even if it was only in their home studio. Dawn was a talented cook, making so many of the wonderful Cajun dishes from her childhood.
As a mother, her children said that no matter what she was always there for them ever at the ready to assist with a project or chaperone a school trip. She loved being a grandmother but was known as Mimi to her three grandchildren. Dawn said she was too young to be called Grandma!
Dawn is survived by her husband, Jeff; their children: Chad, Alanna and Sarah; her sister, Molly Milbury; her parents, F. Michael “Rooster” and Cheryl Johnston; her grandchildren: Steven, Vanessa and Toby Ippolito; father and mother-in-law, Mike and Florette Sedlitz; brothers and sisters-in-law, Michelle Sedlitz, Denise Sedlitz, Susan Janoff, Jason Janoff, Donna Ulto Gates, Harvard Gates and Allen LeBreton and nieces and nephews, Derek, Dylan, Michael and Jennifer; Son-in-law Mikey Ippolito; and “soon-to-be” Daughter-in-law, Elise Servi.
