

Emmanuel "Manny" Scarangella Jr, 59, of St Johns, FL, formerly of Saddle Brook, NJ, was called home to the Lord surrounded by loving family on Monday, February 24th, 2025. Born on November 4, 1965 to Manny Sr and Susan (Burns) in the Bronx, NY and shortly thereafter moved to Fairview, NJ. Manny grew up in Fairview and Bogota, NJ. He spent his childhood years playing baseball and attending many concerts, including his favorite, Bruce Springsteen. Manny was an avid sports fan, and loved his Yankees, Devils, and Cowboys. He attended Paramus Catholic High School and entered the workforce. It was at Child World where Manny met Karen (Goldstein), the love of his life. They got married on March 28th, 1992 and moved to Karen's hometown of Saddle Brook, NJ. From there, they welcomed three boys into the world - Adam, Jeffrey, and Dominick. Manny was a proud dad, and was heavily involved in his sons' sports activities. Manny was Recreation Director for the Township of Saddle Brook, Vice President of Saddle Brook Little League, Commissioner of Saddle Brook Basketball, Saddle Brook Street Hockey, and in 2007 he founded Saddle Brook Jr. Lacrosse. He led a number of fundraisers to benefit the children of Saddle Brook and is fondly remembered as "Coach Manny" to so many throughout his 20+ years in youth sports.
In 2018, Manny, Karen, Jeffrey, and Dominick fulfilled a family dream and moved to St. Johns, FL where they enjoyed time with family and made wonderful lifelong friends. Manny was a loving father, and in 2023, he got a new title as grandfather when Adam Scarangella II was born. Manny lovingly referred to him as "Goofy". Manny loved to travel with his family and look back on great memories at Walt Disney World, cruises in the Caribbean, and Hawaii.
Manny is predeceased by his father Manny Sr and is survived by his mother Susan (Burns), wife Karen (Goldstein), sons Adam and wife Kimberly (Cummins), Jeffrey and fiancee Grace, Dominick, grandson Adam II, sister Gina (Scarangella) and husband Luis, brothers-in-law Robert, Kevin and wife Theresa, and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Services will be held on Friday, February 28th at Hardage-Giddens in St. Johns, FL from 6-9pm and will be followed by a burial on Saturday, March 1st at 12pm at Queen of Angels Cemetery in Winter Park, FL.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Manny’s name to Community Hospice & Palliative Care in Jacksonville, FL is greatly appreciated.
