Patricia Salanap Ebel, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, entered eternal rest on February 10, 2026, surrounded by the love of the family who was the very center of her world. She was 76 years old.
Patricia was born on October 30, 1949, in Albuera, Philippines, to the late Abundio and Facunda Salanap. Raised in humble surroundings, she carried the strength, resilience, and deep faith of her upbringing throughout her life. A strong woman with an unshakable spirit, Patricia faced life’s challenges with courage and grace, always placing her trust in God. Her devout Catholic faith guided her steps and sustained her through every season.
Patricia was the proud matriarch of her family — the heart that held everyone together. She was a loving and devoted wife to her husband of 46 years, Craig Ebel, and a proud Navy wife who embraced the adventure, sacrifice, and travel that military life brought. She was immensely proud of her Filipino heritage and carried her culture with her wherever she went. No matter how far she traveled, she always returned home to the Philippines to reconnect with family and her roots.
Family was Patricia’s greatest joy. She was a loving mother to Genevieve Lefevers, David Ebel (Amy), and Genelee McLawhorn (Jason). Her grandchildren — Tinessa Callinan, Shinequa Smith, Morgan Ebel, Brandon Ebel, Erin Cruz, and Chloe McLawhorn — and her great-grandchildren — Alina Smith, Kyla Callinan, Tyron Smith Jr., and Tybias Smith — were her pride and delight. She poured her love into each of them, creating a legacy of warmth, generosity, laughter, and unwavering support that will live on for generations.
Patricia truly never met a stranger. Her big heart, selfless nature, and generous spirit touched countless lives. She loved to cook for her family, filling her home with laughter and the comforting aroma of her delicious meals. She loved to dance, to travel, and to shop — especially for her beloved purses and shoes. Always fashionable and beautifully put together, she carried herself with confidence and style. She cherished her time living in Hawaii and treasured the many joyful memories made there.
She is also survived by her sisters, Gloria Drayton and Joy White, along with many extended family members and dear friends who were blessed to know and love her. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Abundio and Facunda Salanap, and her brothers, Reynaldo Salanap, Bobby Salanap, Samuel Salanap, and Zosimo Salanap.
Patricia’s life was a testament to strength, faith, generosity, joy, and unconditional love. Though her absence leaves a profound void, her spirit lives on in the family she cherished, the traditions she upheld, and the countless lives she touched. Her love will forever remain the foundation upon which her family stands.
A Celebration of Life will be held on February 19, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Hardage-Giddens St. Johns Funeral Home, 1285 St. Johns Parkway, St. Johns, Florida 32259.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
