Bonnell, Donald age 73, of St. Louis, died on Tuesday, April 13, 2021. Don was born, grew up, lived, worked and raised his family in St. Louis. He is survived by his twin brother, Ronald; his loving daughters Tiffany Bonnell and Tamara McCormick; his four grandchildren, Hunter, Charley, Perla and Marlo; and his faithful dog, Dina. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lois Hukriede Bonnell; his father Virgil Lee Bonnell; and his brothers, Gary Lee Bonnell and Frederick Wayne Bonnell. Don was a lifelong machinist and engineer with an always-busy mechanical mind. As a young man, he played baseball and rugby. Over the years, he collected whatever antiques that spoke to him, especially maple furniture. A friend to everyone he encountered, Don logged countless miles around Compton Hill Reservoir and Tower Grove parks, and the well-trodden sidewalks of the historic Shaw neighborhood and South St. Louis. In his memory, the family simply encourages you to plant a tree, cheer on the Cardinals and Blues, support local small businesses, adopt a dog and keep telling that favorite joke.
A small memorial will be planned in June.
