Mary Ann was born on January 2nd, 1935 in St. Louis, Missouri to Elmer and Lillian Heitmeier. She attended the Academy of the Sacred Heart (City House), Maryville University, and worked briefly for Falstaff Brewery. After losing her mother and father before she was 20 years old, she met Alice (Nonnie) MacDonald at a wedding who introduced her to her future husband where the rest became history. They would go on to marry and raise 5 children together. Cal’s mother and father, Beno and Alice, treated Mary Ann as their own, often lending a shoulder and being there to comfort her.
Mary Ann was an avid bowler for many years and volunteered at Shriner’s Hospital, The American Red Cross and Our Lady of the Pillar while her children were in school. She was known for showing up late and being the last to leave. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends, traveling with Cal while they were young and summer vacations to Saugatuck, MI.
