Jacob Roman

ROMAN, Jacob – of Peabody, formerly of Marblehead. Entered into rest September 25, 2016 at the age of 102 years. Beloved husband of the late Virginia (Lawrence) Roman. Dear son of the late Abraham and Sarah (Goldstein) Roman. Devoted father of Brenda Crawford and her husband George and Larry Roman and his wife Inez. Cherished grandfather of Pamela Roman and Matthew Roman. Loving brother of the late Benjamin, Hyman, Maynard, Morris and Leo Roman and Jane Dvorak. Born and educated in Lynn. Owner of the Roman Empire Antique Shop in Georgetown for many years. Active member and benefactor of the Lynch/van Otterloo YMCA in Marblehead. Jacob was well known in the community and led a very active lifestyle. His funeral service will be held at the Stanetsky-Hymanson Memorial Chapel, 10 Vinnin Street, SALEM on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at 12:00 PM. Interment at Waterside Cemetery, Marblehead. A visitation will be held prior to the service on Thursday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in his memory may be donated to the Lynch/van Otterloo YMCA, 40 Leggs Hill Road, Marblehead, MA 01945 or to the Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Avenue, Salem, MA 01970.
