TANKEL, June Cynthia- 89, formerly of Medford, Sunday, 4/16. Born in Waltham to the late Joseph M. and Esther Tankel, June was raised in Medford and attended Curry School of Expression and Bryant and Stratton. She worked as a bookkeeper for Metritape in Littleton for many years until her retirement. June was the beloved sister of Beverly Brotman of Hudson and the late W. Alan Tankel and Simone Labell. She was also the loving aunt of 8 nieces and nephews and 20 grandnieces and grandnephews. Funeral services will be held at Stanetsky-Hymanson Memorial Chapel, 10 Vinnin St., Salem, on Wednesday, 4/19 at 11 AM. Burial will follow at B’nai Brith Cemetery, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations in June’s name may be made to the National MS Society, Greater New England Chapter, 101A 1st Ave, Waltham, MA 02451 or via www.nationalmssociety.org or to the charity of one's choice. Memorial observances will be held at the home of Beverly Brotman on Thursday and Friday, 4/20 and 4/21 from 2-4 PM and 6:30 to 8 PM and at the home of Evan Labell on Sunday, 4/23 from 4-7 PM.
