Marilyn Yetta Seidler passed away on January 5, 2026, at the age of 83. Marilyn was born on January 25, 1942, in Dorchester, MA. She grew up in Quincy and spent most of her life in Ipswich, MA, a place she came to love deeply.
Marilyn was the beloved wife of Larry Seidler; a devoted mother to Sue Vorcheimer and Mike Seidler; a loving mother-in-law to Farrah Seidler; and a cherished grandmother to Alec Vorcheimer, Ben Seidler, and Danny Seidler. She was the dear daughter of the late Al and Esther Sulkins.
She graduated from Quincy High School and the Forsyth School for Dental Hygiene, and went on to work as a dental hygienist for nearly 40 years across the South Shore and North Shore of Boston. Marilyn and Larry moved to Ipswich in 1970, where they raised their family in the beautiful Cape Ann beach town that became home.
Marilyn was deeply involved in her community. She was a dedicated member of the Town & Country Garden Club of Ipswich, serving for 30 years as Chairperson of the Garden Club Scholarship Fund. She was also a passionate advocate for women’s rights through her involvement with the League of Women Voters.
An accomplished flutist, Marilyn found great joy in music and performed with both the Quincy Symphony Orchestra and the Ipswich Community Band.
Marilyn appreciated the simple and beautiful things in life, especially birds, butterflies, and flowers. She treasured time spent with family and friends and loved being near the water—from Nantasket Beach and Crane Beach to Aruba in her later years. She also held a special place in her heart for her family cabin in Bridgeton, Maine, where she picked blueberries at Woods Pond and skied the slopes at Pleasant Mountain. Marilyn loved to cook and was well known for her homemade pickles, which she happily shared with friends and family each year.
A lifelong Red Sox fan, Marilyn’s love of baseball was inspired by her parents. One of her most joyful recent memories was celebrating her 60th wedding anniversary with Larry on the field at Fenway Park, surrounded by family, this past July.
A graveside service will take place at 11:00 am on January 8 at Maple Hill Cemetery in Peabody, Massachusetts. Shiva will follow at the family home in Ipswich, with additional sittings on Friday 3:00-7:00 pm and Saturday 2:00-6:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Marilyn’s memory may be made to the Town & Country Garden Club of Ipswich Scholarship Fund, and mailed c/o Donna Maggio, at 42 Little Neck Road, Ipswich MA 01938.
