I am very saddened to read about the death of our family friend and fellow long time member of the Boston Yacht Club.  We first met when my special needs brother Eric became friends with the Stairman's special needs son.  My Dad and Mel were very generous with their time and money in helping North Shore Arc.  That began a 45 year friendship of two special families dedicated to the care of their kids.  Helena and I just spoke to Mel and Judy at lunch in September.  I want Judy to know that my family cares...Mel was a very special guy!!

Mel was a wonderful kind and generous man proud to have been able to call him a friend. First met Mel as he was wondering old town Marblehead where he maintained a summer home on the harbor he would make the trek over from Swampscott and just get lost in his view. Many good times at the BYC.

Mel always made me feel welcome at family gatherings.
