
Myer Kravetz formerly of Chelsea & Swampscott, entered into rest on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at the age of 97. Beloved husband of Phyllis (Marcus) Kravetz. Devoted father of Gary Kravetz and his wife Paula of Guilford, CT, Susan Syversen and her husband Michael of Marblehead, Richard Kravetz of Salem. Cherished grandfather of Brooke, Michelle, Michael and Jacob. Adored great grandfather of Keira. He was the family’s baby, predeceased by his parents Israel and Jennie G. (Shaffer) Kravetz and Irving, Ida, Ben and Sam. He was the loving uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Myer grew up in Chelsea, graduating as salutatorian from Chelsea High School. He was class Treasurer and on the planning committee of reunions. He earned a basketball scholarship to Barton College in Wilson, NC. After two years he returned to Chelsea and graduated from Bentley College and Suffolk University. He became a Certified Public Accountant with his own practice and enjoyed working for his clients and friends.
He and Phyllis met on a blind date and married in 1956, raising their family in Swampscott.
He was a long-time member of Temple Sinai of Marblehead and served on several of their Boards and Committees.
He loved watching sports, playing tennis, and reading at the beach. He was a giving person, always available to help family, friends, colleagues & clients.
A funeral service will be held at Stanetsky-Hymanson Memorial Chapel, 10 Vinnin Street, Salem on Sunday, February 8, 2026 at 1 PM. Burial to follow at Temple Sinai Cemetery,
16 Buxton Road, Danvers. Shiva will be held at his daughter and son-in-law’s home, Susan and Michael Syversen from 4-7 PM on Sunday and 5-8 PM on Tuesday, February 10th.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to the Jewish Community Center of the North Shore, 4 Community Road, Marblehead, MA 01945.
