Selma (Edelstein) Sherman – a long time resident of Swampscott, entered into rest on Friday, November 17, 2023, at the age of 95. Beloved wife of the late Max Sherman. Devoted mother of daughter Ilene and her husband Alan Morgan, son Michael Sherman and his wife Nancy, and daughter Roberta Sherman. Cherished grandmother of Leslie Morgan and Great Granddaughter Gloria Khalife. Dear daughter of the late William and Etta (Sheinfeld) Edelstein.
She grew up in Chelsea with her siblings Arnold, Irving, and Charlotte, graduated from Chelsea High School in 1946, and raised her family in Swampscott. She worked until age 72, having several different professions over the years, and retired working for the Department of Transitional Assistance in 2,000. She had a huge heart and was a truly selfless woman who would take care of everyone as if they were all her children. She cherished her time spent with family and friends.
Funeral services for Selma were held privately at the Pride of Lynn Cemetery, Lake Shore Road, Lynn, MA. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in her memory may be donated to a charity of your choice.
