

LYNN- Stephen L. Sallop, Frosty (Steve’s) neighborhood ice cream truck driver was adored by generations of children, age 71 years, of Lynn, formerly of Revere, entered into rest Saturday morning, September 12, 2015 surrounded by his loving family at the North Shore Medical Center/Salem Hospital in Salem. He was the beloved husband of Bernice “Bunny” (Fisher) Sallop. Born in Hartford, CT, he was the adored son of Rebecca (Netupsky) and the late Max Sallop. Stephen attended Revere Public Schools until he decided to go work and help his father in the ice cream business.
Stephen was known by many as Frosty (Steve’s) neighborhood ice cream truck driver for forty-nine years. Most recently, he was employed as a bus driver for the Healey Bus Company in Lynn.
In addition to his wife and mother, Stephen is survived by his three devoted children, Al Sallop and Holly Sallop both of Lynn and George Sallop of Boston; two dear foster daughters, April Castro of NH and Kathy Curran of ME; three cherished grandchildren, Samuel and David Sallop both of Lynn and Matthew Clement of Peabody; two loving siblings, Marvin Sallop of Revere and Gail Sallop of Reading; nine brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services at Stanetsky-Hymanson Memorial Chapel, 10 Vinnin Street, SALEM on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at 1:30 PM. Interment at Old Jewish Deed Holders Cemetery, Everett. Memorial observance following the interment on Tuesday only until 8 PM at his late residence.
