

Beverly Lou James (Bev), 77, of Salem, Oregon, passed away on August 29th, 2025 at Salem hospital. She was born on September 5th, 1947 in Amity, Oregon. Bev graduated high school in 1965 and started job training for the State of Oregon in computer programming. She began working for the state in 1967 in the Highway Department to calculate weights and measures. She continued to consult with the state after her retirement in 1998. She is survived by her brother Floyd (Jess) James, (Karen James). Her nephew Shawn James (Patricia James). Niece Shannon Fisher (David Fisher). Nephew Bill Randall. Nephew James Randall. Niece Jenifer (Jena) Smith (Rob Smith). Niece Sandra (Sam) Carpenter (Rick Carpenter), and numerous great and great, great nephews and nieces. Bev is also survived by her very close friends Gabriel Alvarado and Michelle Cannon- Schmidt. Cynthia King and Robert King. She was preceded in death by her father Eldon (buddy) James, mother Blanch James, and her sisters Dolores Benedict and Kay Randall. Bev was an avid fan of the Oregon Ducks and the Portland Trailblazers, and she loved tailgating and traveling to the games with her cousins. She loved to compete in various recreational leagues to include pool, darts and bowling. Bev took every opportunity to see her family and enjoyed spending time with them, and took pride in becoming an Auntie to many extended family members.
Bev’s celebration of life will be held on October 4, 2025 at 1:00PM at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Services in Salem Oregon
