I first met Dave Farmer in 1997 or 1998. He and his wife Sharon, moved to Boise to help out in a new Open Bible Church that had just had been founded the year before. The pastor there was Dick Douglas. David and I used to preach in that church from time to time. David and Sharon became part of the worship team and then eventually became the worship team. David led worship and Sharon played the piano. Until the year 2000 I had a prison ministry at the penitentiary in Boise. Dave used to go out with me once in a while and speak there. So we got to know each other fairly well. The next time I saw Dave and Sharon was when they moved here to Salem and visited our church when we were at Peoples Church. Even though we did not see each other that much except occasionally here in town I do remember him very well. And so do those who were in that Open Bible Church at Boise at that time. The one thing I remember about Dave more than anything was his loyalty to the church and Jesus. Then I heard he was a pastor at River Church. That could only have been a blessing for the church there. I'm sure he will be missed and Cathe and I both pray for comfort and clear wisdom and leadership of the Holy Spirit to the family at this time. And may the Lord lead all of those in the family on that ever rising road towards the will of God. You are all in my and Cathes prayers. As always the best is yet to come, Rick and Cathe Mansfield.
