Dora was a loving spouse, mommy, sister, tía, and grandmother. For her cherished grandchildren, she was known as Abuelita, Lita, and Gamma. Her calming spirit and compassionate soul provided boundless support and encouragement to all she encountered. Her unyielding loyalty to family, devout faith, and ever-present life of service will be remembered by all those fortunate enough to share in her life.
Dora is survived by her husband and life-long partner of 50 years, Julian, her brother Juan, and her beloved sister Rosa. She and her sister were inseparable. Dora and Julian had two children, Marcos Omar and Andrea Rodriguez Palacios. She also shared her boundless love with her goddaughter Stephanie Marie and five grandchildren, Kyla Rae, Amelia Jae, Aliana Kai, Cole Sebastian, and Rafaella Grace, who loved spending time in her nurturing embrace.
No obstacle would keep Dora from supporting her family. Her love was unconditional. She and Julian spent decades shipping and selling Oregon Christmas Trees in South Texas, where they also loved spending time with their extended family. She and Julian would also travel around the globe to be there for the birth of two grandchildren and provide help for the beginnings of new family branches. One of the greatest joys in her recent years was helping care for her grandchildren whenever possible. She truly lived a life in service to others, as God asks of all of us. She is preceded in death by her parents, Tomas and Francisca Alvarez.
Her loving family stretched across Oregon, Washington State, Arizona, Texas, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Mexico.
