Bette was born April 16, 1925 in Hays, Kansas to Charles and Catherine (Etzel) Weigel. She and her family moved to Salem, Oregon in 1940. Bette married Gerald W. Stuchlik on January 22, 1949. Bette and Gerald moved to Gervais in 1955. There they farmed many things, including strawberries, beans, broccoli, cauliflower, and filbert nuts. Sadly, Gerald passed away in 1984.
Bette was a long-time member of St. Louis Sacred Heart Parrish. She participated in all types of events, like craft shows, dinners, and more. Bette loved traveling, snowmobiling, sewing, and fishing. She would often travel with her girlfriends by car and would end up at the casino. She also traveled with her sisters.
Bette is survived by her son, Duane (Lynda) Stuchlik of Gresham, Oregon; two grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; and her siblings, Harriet Paradis of Mt. Angel, Oregon, John Weigel of Salem, Oregon, and JoAnn Long of Salem, Oregon.
A celebration of life for Bette will be held Friday, July 16, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Howell, Edwards, Doerksen with Rigdon-Ransom Funeral Directors, 1350 Commercial Street SE, Salem, OR 97302.
