

Irma “Janice” Williams, a resident of Salem, Oregon died on September 21, 2015 in Keizer. She was 81 years of age.
Janice was born on December 22, 1933 in Paragould, Arkansas and was the daughter of Raymond and Helen (Collier) Phillips. She graduated from Little Rock Central High School in 1950 and attended Missionary Baptist Seminary in Little Rock where she earned her Master’s Degree in Bible Languages.
In June of 1952, Janice married Clarence D. Williams in Little Rock. As a Pastor's wife, Janice and her family resided Arkansas, Texas, Kansas and Oregon settling in Salem in 1987 where her husband pastored Fellowship Baptist church. Serving mainly as a homemaker, Janice also worked as a secretary for a number of years, wrote Sunday school literature and lived a life of service through her involvement in the church.
Janice was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend who adored her grandchildren. She was the "glue" that held many of the relationships in her life together and she made a point to visit family and friends on a regular basis. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Janice is survived by her children, Debbie (husband, Ken) Smith of Salem, Tammy (husband, Phil) Friesen of Keizer and Randy Williams of Salem, grandsons, Aaron Friesen,, Christopher Smith and Nathan Smith and her sisters, Betty Penn and Raymell Goodwin, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence and sister, Ella.
Visitation will be on Friday, September 25, 2015 from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm at Howell, Edwards, Doerksen. The funeral will be on Saturday at 11:00 am also at Howell, Edwards, Doerksen. A family committal service will be held at Willamette National Cemetery.
