The Life of Khua Thi Tran

May 1, 1936 to Dec 20, 2025

Khua, also known as Má, Bà Ngoại, Bà Nội, and Bà Cố, was born in Rach Gia, Vietnam on May 1, 1936. Her life began in a period of political unrest that led to multiple wars, yet she emerged from these trials as a remarkably resilient woman. Together with her beloved husband, Binh Huynh, they built a thriving fabric store, nurtured a large family, and eventually left their homeland for a new life in America.

Finding peace for the first time in America, she poured her heart into starting a house cleaning business to ensure that her children had the support they needed in this unfamiliar land. She took every opportunity that crossed her to make life a success for her family. Many grandchildren were cradled and fed by her hands. She was generous with her smiles and whippy advice on life. Khua's hard work paid off in countless ways. In her prime, she was a prolific swimmer, cultivated the greenest of gardens, and travelled many miles throughout the world.

Having proven her resiliency multiple times in her life, Khua inspired those who loved her with many attributes of an extraordinary person: Witty, Hardworking; Fiery and Feisty; Teacher; Determined; Strong; Steadfast; Brave; Loving; Respected; Joyful and Happy.

Khua passed away in her home on December 20, 2025.
