The family moved to Oregon when Linda was 3 years old, living for a time in Marion before settling in Salem. Linda grew up with four sisters, graduated from North Salem High School in 1966 and was a member of the national Honor Society for each of her high school years. On September 8, 1985 Linda married the love of her life, George Suniga. George preceded her in death on June 21, 2017.
Linda enjoyed downhill skiing with her sisters. She also dearly loved her horses and excelled in equestrian events. She and George loved travelling to horse shows, in which Linda competed and earned countless ribbons and many trophies. They also loved their time on the Oregon Coast, Palm Springs and many visits to Las Vegas over the decades. Linda worked alongside George in their construction and land development business. She spent many hours in the office and in the field with George. George always said Linda was his right hand "person" and could not have succeeded without her.
Linda's dogs were her children, she adored them as much as her family. She looked forward to getting together on the holidays with her sisters, sharing laughter, childhood memories and creating new memories. Linda had a very close relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and knew, without a shadow of a doubt, that she would be reunited with her husband and Jesus in Heaven. This brought her much peace and comfort.
Linda is preceded in death by her husband, George, her parents and her sister Debbie. She is survived by sisters Kay (Dave, deceased) Hanson, Sue (Dennis) Tipton and Christine Wallace; nieces Tangee Holub, Genelle Holub, Amy Pickett and Jamie Ellis; nephew Shawn Smith; brother-in-law Bob Smith, stepdaughters Francie West, Stephanie Fry, Terri Nordone, Tami Suniga; 4 grandsons, 3 great-granddaughters and 3 great-grandsons.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to Linda's loving and compassionate caregivers; Tina, Phyllis, Cyd, Deena, Wendy, Linda (Shorty), and Diane, also to Willamette Valley Hospice for the incredible support they gave to Linda, her caregivers and family.
