It is with sorrow that I inform every one of my brother Lou Gary Wood’s, passing. Gary was born April 17, 1955, to Richard Paul Wood Sr. and Anna E. Wood. He passed away August 2, 2025. He leaves behind his first wife Gracie; his second wife Wilma; two sisters; and three brothers. My brother was a good man of God. Gary struggled with dementia for a long time. Wilma reached out to us on April 28 to help take care of Gary. We took him to a hospital in Corvallis and to Harmony House in Salem for memory care shortly after. Terri and I were with him while he was at Harmony House. Gary looked around his room and said “Wow!” The nurse helping us mentioned that when the end is near patients may see family members and want to join them. We had to take Gary to Salem Hospital after being at Harmony House for just a week. That is when he passed to walk the streets with God. He really loved listening to Christian music. Gary really loved “I Could Only Imagine” so Terri and I sang that song many times. He couldn’t say the words but would tap his toes on the footboard of his bed. It made him happy. I loved singing to him and holding his hand, so he knew I was there. My brother used to work on cars all the time. He loved hotdogs, pineapples, chocolate pudding, and the Harmony House staff. They go beyond standard care and made his stay there amazing. His pastor’s name was Nick, and he was a kind man to Gary. He and Wilma used to go to the Garden Fountain where they served hotdogs, and they all had Christian Fellowship together. I know he is going to be missed but now he is with all our family in Heaven.
