Mildred “Millie” Kidwell, age 68, passed away peacefully November 6, 2021 at home in Stayton, Oregon. She was born Mildred Carol Daugherty on July 23, 1953 in Pine Knot, Kentucky. Millie was a scholar and athlete and class president of Douglas High School in Winston, Oregon where she graduated in 1971.
Millie is preceded in death by her husband Donald Kidwell, her parents Virginia and Lawrence Daugherty, her sisters Thelma Phillips and Leona Barrett, and her brothers Steven and Hurstle Daugherty. She is survived by sister Ann, and brothers Henry, Walter, Bernard, Jerry, Terry and Randy.
Millie was known and loved for her generosity and fierce devotion to her friends and family. Her younger siblings as well as her nieces and nephews remember her as someone who taught them to drive, and if you dented her bumper she merely shrugged it off as an accident. Millie had many careers but the one she remembered most fondly was working as an aide taking care of people, something that typified her caring and giving nature.
