Patricia Ann “Trish” Montgomery was born on August 2, 1949 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, daughter of John and Agnes. She resided in the New Orleans area until Hurricane Katrina and a health crisis led to a move to Salem, Oregon where she lived near her family. She passed away on March 9, 2013.
Trish followed in her mother’s footsteps to become an RN and ICU night shift supervisor and spent most of her career at Hotel Dieu Hospital in New Orleans. She was an avid reader and cat lover. She enjoyed her time in Salem while residing at Meadowcreek Village Assisted Living and made many friends there.
Trish is survived by her brother Ed Montgomery and his wife, Vivien, niece Lydia Montgomery Bailey and her husband Jeff, great nephew Liam Bailey, nephew Gabriel Montgomery, all of Salem, sister Kathleen Montgomery of Austin, Texas and kitty Emma. The family wishes to give a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Meadowcreek Village and Sunnyside Care Center, who cared for Trish most kindly.
A family memorial service will take place later this year in New Orleans. Donations in Trish’s memory may be made to the Willamette Valley Humane Society.
